How do we assess unconsciousness in behaviorally unresponsive patients? In this paper just published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, we conduct case study with a patient with unresponsive wakefulness syndrome, exploring a new within-subject paradigm for answering this question.
What are the mechanisms for the reversibility of unconsciousness at a network level? To study this question, we used graph theory to examine the EEG network properties of individuals transitioning into and out of anesthetized states. Our results were just published in Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience. Check it out!
